There is going to be a series of lectures at Sherwood Forest Country park if anyone is interested in going.
The Bats of Sherwood Forest is on Tuesday 21st July 7.30-10.30 pm (approx).
The evening’s program is designed to enable you to learn and interact with these wonderful creatures on several levels.
It starts with a presentation by Bob Cornish, a bat rehabilitator who with his wife, runs a small bat hospital in Gainsborough
Some of the myths that still surround bats will be examined, how vital they are on a global basis and finish by looking at some of the species that can be found in this country.
Then there will be refreshments and the chance to meet a live Pipistrelle bat and ask questions.
The evening will be rounded off with a walk in the woods with bat detectors, weather permitting.
You need to take a low powered torch and insect repellent is recommended.
Places are limited so you need to pre-book on 01623 823202.
£5 per person including refreshments – not suitable for under 16’s.
